Dual Wheel

The technical term is “dual rear wheel,” called dually or DWR for short. Dual wheel trucks were designed and meant for people towing and hauling heavy loads. The main benefit of the dually is stability and safety. With the two wheels instead of one, a truck can distribute the weight of a payload more evenly.

The increasingly heavy combinations of tractors and agricultural tools are faced with many problems under poor terrain circumstances. the use of a dual wheel system still offers a practical and economical solution. The advantages of mounting a wheel next to the existing tractor wheel include:

  • Greater tensile strength
  • Less rutting or damage to the ground structure
  • Lower fuel consumption
  • Less slip and therefore less tire wear

The downside of a dual wheel, or any type of tire for that matter, is that they will wear out eventually. It is important to keep quality fleet commercial roadside assistance nearby so that a flat or a blowout doesn’t disrupt your drive too long.
